Dan Wheeler joined QVC as program host in 1991. In this position, Dan presents product information, conducts demonstrations, and interacts with on–air guests, celebrities, and viewers. He is known for hosting a variety of sports shows, as well as those on Craftsman® Tools, electronics, fitness/exercise equipment, Elvis Presley's music and collectibles, and jewelry.
Prior to joining QVC, Dan was with the Cable Value Network (CVN) as an on–air host, and when CVN was acquired by QVC, he joined Performance Communications, Inc. In 1987, Dan and a partner formed the production company Closer Look Video Group.
Dan was also with WCFC–TV in Chicago as a member of the news production crew. He was promoted to producer and then senior producer. He also co–hosted and produced the weekly magazine show, A Closer Look, which was syndicated to 40 markets across the country. While at WCFC, Dan also produced nearly a dozen documentaries. Dan's documentaries and magazine shows have won seven "Religion in Media" Awards in Hollywood and seven EMMY® nominations for production in the Chicago television market.
Dan also spent time as a sportscaster with ABC–affiliate KMTC–TV in Springfield, MO.
Most recently in his career, Dan wrote a book entitled, Best Seat in the House: Untold Stories of DiMaggio, Mantle, Foreman & Other Sports Legends. The book features short stories about many of the great sports legends he has interviewed on QVC, and offers the reader a behind–the–scenes look at Dan's daily work activities. Dan received a B.A. in Communications and Biblical Studies from Evangel College, Springfield, MO.
